COVID-19 Updates

Dear Habitat for Humanity supporter,

I am writing to provide an additional update about the measures Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc. is taking to protect our staff, volunteers and the people we serve during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. These measures are based on guidance from Habitat for Humanity International and local, state, and national public health authorities. We are continually monitoring the situation, and our approach may change as new guidance is provided.

Since our last announcement, the following changes have occurred:

  • Our build in Carthage will continue as scheduled with the following changes

    • we are unable to have volunteers on-site. We sincerely appreciate the willingness of the community to help, but at this time only TIA Habitat staff and sub-contractors are able to assist.

  • Our spaghetti dinner fundraiser scheduled for March 18 is rescheduled for July 8.

  • Our casino night fundraiser scheduled for April 3 is rescheduled for August 7.

  • Our ReStore will remain open with reduced services. We are unable to offer pick up or delivery service for now. We are still in need of donations and will be accepting donations from the community during business hours.

Please know that we are constantly monitoring the situation and will update our plans as new details emerge. Thank you for your continued support as we navigate this public health crisis together.
