Community Clean Up Day 4/24/2021
On Saturday, April 24, 2021, dozens of volunteers joined Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity as we helped clean up our community.
The clean-up event would not have been such a success without the support and generosity of the City of Watertown. Our sincerest thanks to the City of Watertown for the use of the municipal arena parking lot, setting up trash collection sites, and disposing of the collected trash!
When volunteers arrived at registration, they were greeted with a delicious assortment of donuts, thanks to Dunkin’!
Dozens of people from as far away as Utica showed up to lend a hand. Special thanks go to ACR Health! ACR Health brought volunteers from Utica, Syracuse, and locally to help us clean up and to dispose of several needles found during the event! ACR Health also donated several sharps disposal containers for future clean-up efforts.
We are also thankful that several members of the Watertown Sunrise Rotary came out to lend a hand! The President of the club helped clean up around Division and Starbuck Avenue and collected so much trash that she had to get extra bags!
We also had a great turnout from students! Thank you to the Carthage Key Club and a large group from IHC for supporting us!
We were also blessed to have the support of the Watertown Lions Club (and their family)!
Lastly, thank you to our AmeriCorps member and many other volunteers who came out to clean up!
